Paris to Honfleur — Private Driver to Normandy's Most Painted Harbour
Two hours and ten minutes from your Paris hotel door to the quayside at Honfleur. That is the distance — in time — between the most visited city in the world and the most painted harbour in France.
Your Luxberri private driver comes to the entrance of your Paris hotel at whatever time you choose. The A13 motorway carries you northwest through the Seine Valley. The Pont de Normandie bridge crossing — 2,141 metres of cable-stay over the Seine estuary — announces your arrival in the Calvados. And then Honfleur: the slate-fronted houses of the Vieux Bassin, the timber church built by shipwrights, the light on the water that Boudin spent a lifetime trying to capture and Monet came here specifically to see.
No train to Saint-Lazare. No connection to Le Havre. No final bus from a station with no connection to the harbour. Your Paris hotel door to the Honfleur quayside — in one private vehicle, at a fixed price confirmed before you leave.

Honfleur — What You Are Going Towards
Honfleur has been drawing painters since the 17th century. Boudin was born in the Rue Haute in 1824. Monet came here aged 24 and spent weeks painting the harbour light with Boudin and Jongkind. The canvases they produced in Honfleur in the 1860s are now in the Musée d'Orsay, the Metropolitan Museum, and the Louvre. The light they painted is still here — the particular quality of Atlantic light on the Seine estuary, filtered through the Normandy sky, turning the Vieux Bassin into a different painting at every hour.
The Musée Eugène Boudin on the Place Erik Satie holds the most important collection of Norman Impressionist work outside Paris. The Maisons Satie — the museum dedicated to composer Erik Satie, who was also born in Honfleur — occupies a series of Norman half-timbered houses on the Boulevard Charles V.
And the town itself: the Quai Sainte-Catherine lined with restaurants serving moules, sole meunière, and coquilles Saint-Jacques from the English Channel. The narrow streets of the Vieux Honfleur behind the harbour — Rue de la Ville, Rue Haute, Rue du Puits — unchanged since the 17th century. The Lieutenance, the 16th-century gatehouse at the harbour mouth, where Samuel de Champlain departed for Canada in 1608 to found Quebec City.
Paris to all of it: 2 hours 10 minutes.
