Ship Excursion, Train or Private Driver

The ship's own coach excursion is the simplest to book and the least flexible: a fixed group, a fixed itinerary and a fixed return, with most of the day spent waiting for the slowest person to reboard.

The train means a transfer from the port to Le Havre station, a connection at Rouen on many services, and a return time that has to be chosen with a large safety margin because missing it means missing the ship.

A private driver runs port to Paris directly, on a departure time set around your ship's schedule rather than a timetable, and the same car brings you back.

Le Havre to Paris, or Le Havre to CDG

Both are routine. Passengers ending a cruise at Le Havre and flying home the same day are usually going to CDG; passengers starting or continuing a trip are usually going into central Paris.

Either way the price is agreed per vehicle before you book, so a group of four or six is not paying six separate fares.

Honfleur and the Normandy Coast

Honfleur sits directly across the Seine estuary from Le Havre, over the Pont de Normandie. The old harbour is the most painted in France, and it is comfortably the closest worthwhile stop to the port.

Rouen and the Seine Valley

Rouen is roughly halfway to Paris and works either as a destination in its own right or as a stop on the way. The cathedral Monet painted repeatedly, the medieval centre and the Joan of Arc sites are all walkable from where we can drop you.

The D-Day Beaches

The landing beaches, the American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer and the Bayeux tapestry are all reachable from Le Havre on a full-day call. It is a long day and the timing needs to be planned against your all-aboard time, so tell us your schedule when you enquire.
